Reticulocytes Count Test

Reticulocytes are red blood cells that are still immature. A reticulocyte count is a blood test that determines how many of these cells are present in the blood.
Why is the Test Performed?
The test is performed to determine if red blood cells are being produced at an appropriate rate in the bone marrow. The number of reticulocytes in the blood indicates how quickly the bone marrow produces and releases them.
