Pre test Information : No Special Preparation Needed
The bladder is imaged using an MCU while it fills and empties. It determines if the urine is moving up toward the kidneys from the bladder in a reverse direction.
A micturating cysto-urethrogram (MCU) is being performed on your infant or child to determine whether they have urine reflux (backflow). If your child is a boy, they might additionally undergo an MCU to look for urethral obstruction.
